Know who takes your waste.
The booking details should tell you who supplies the skip, who moves the waste and how to check their authorisation.
A brand name is not a registration.
Small Skip Hire is the proposed website brand. Its contracting business, fulfilment role and Scottish registration records are awaiting verification. No registration badge or recycling percentage is claimed in this preview.
Before a real booking, the quote must identify the relevant business and supplier. The owner’s relationship with another skip-hire website does not by itself establish the correct operating record for this service.
Check the Scottish registration.
Ask for the registered name, registration number and expiry details. SEPA now describes waste carriers as waste transporters. Check the relevant transporter or broker record rather than relying on a logo on a website.
SEPA’s older carrier register currently displays data only up to 31 March 2026. Its service notice directs users to Search the Register if the record is missing. If the result remains unclear, ask SEPA to confirm it; an absent result in an older search is not a conclusive finding.
Household and trade waste are different.
SEPA says householders must pass waste only to an authorised person. Businesses and waste contractors have additional duties, including appropriate records for waste transfers.
Tell the operator whether the waste is from a household clear-out or your business activity. Keep the quote, supplier details and any documents supplied for the collection.
Match the route to the material.
Describe the waste fully so the operator can agree a suitable destination and handling method. Upholstered seating, electrical items and other restricted materials cannot be assumed to follow an ordinary mixed-waste route.
Ask how reusable items and recyclable materials will be handled where relevant. We will add disposal evidence when verified; there are no invented recycling targets or environmental guarantees here.
