Flat clear-outs and shared access in Edinburgh
Edinburgh's conservation appraisals distinguish the Old Town, New Town and Leith. A flat entrance, shared courtyard and street frontage each call for a different delivery plan.
Before stripping out a kitchen, walk the route from the room to the proposed skip position. Measure doors and note stairs, communal passages and bin stores. A container close to the building may still leave an awkward carrying route. Agree how residents will get in and out while materials are moved.
Keep the delivery space separate from parking
A residents' parking entitlement does not establish permission to place a skip. Describe the exact street position, any marked bay and the space needed by the lorry. Ask what parking arrangements accompany the council permit, and keep the collection position accessible until the loaded skip has gone.

Compare the four small skip sizes
Use these approximate dimensions as a starting point. Container shapes vary; confirm the supplied skip and vehicle clearance before booking.
For a skip on a public road or pavement, check Edinburgh Council’s skip-permit requirements. Explain the intended position and any parking bay before agreeing delivery. Confirm the current fee, notice period and any separate parking arrangements directly; permission to park a vehicle does not authorise a skip.
Only after the person responsible for the land agrees and the operator accepts the approach and lifting space. Tell them about gates, arches and surface restrictions. A courtyard that fits the container may still be inaccessible to the vehicle.
